چکیده
Introduction: According to our hypothesis, the mean platelet volume (MPV) value in migraine patients should be lower than healthy individuals due recurrent neuroinflammation during headache attacks. Therefore, this study aimed identify differences between MPV and other hemogram parameters pediatric with a control group. Material methods: This included total of 80 people, 40 subjects. Those hematological diseases, using alcohol or smoking, malignancy, pregnancy, any chronic disease were excluded from study. Results: Individuals group chosen have same age sex as patient ( p = 0.98). The had statistically significantly higher counts 0.043). was compared 0.001), but distribution width 0.034) Conclusions: Migraine period shown low values elevated neuroinflammation. result shows that inflammation especially plays vital role pathophysiology.

background: blood neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (nlr) and mean platelet volume (mpv) both have been used as a simple marker of inflammation in many disorders. here, we aimed to investigate the relationship between nlr, mpv, and familial mediterranean fever (fmf). materials and methods: in this retrospective study, the fi les of fmf patients in pediatric rheumatology outpatient clinic were revi...
متن کاملThe Evaluation of Mean Platelet Volume in Neonates with Intraventricular Hemorrhage and Sepsis
Background: Neonatal sepsis is a generalized bacterial infection which occurs in the first month of life. Intraventricular hemorrhage is the most common intracerebral disorder which occurs in premature neonates. Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) is considered as a marker of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in some studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of MPV on IVH and sepsis in n...
متن کاملEstimation of Platelet Counts and Other Hematological Parameters in Pseudothrombocytopenia Using Alternative Anticoagulant: Magnesium Sulfate
The platelet count, mean platelet volume, and other hematological parameters were compared in blood samples anticoagulated with MgSO4 and EDTA. A total of 15 samples were taken, and the platelet counts were observed to be significantly high in MgSO4-anticoagulated blood samples ranging from 53 × 103 to 499 × 103/μL, whereas in EDTA-anticoagulated blood samples, the counts ranged from 10 × 103 t...
متن کاملMean Platelet Volume and Immature Platelet Fraction in Autoimmune Disorders
Mean platelet volume (MPV), measured using automated blood analysers, has been appraised as a potential biomarker in cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, and cancer. The test, a useful tool in differentiation of thrombocytopenic states, has now been carried out for autoimmune disorders, but data are yet scarce. Controversial results have been obtained in systemic and organ-specific autoim...
